Packaging Operations and Maintenance

The DOE Office Packaging and Transportation (EM-63), Packaging Certification Program sponsored training course, Packaging Operations and Maintenance will be held September 1-2, 2009 at the Business and Education Building, Room 124, University of South Carolina at Aiken.

The Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) developed and will deliver this training course with the objective of instructing package users of the applicable SARP requirements.

This course provides a basic, practical overview of General Information, Package Operations, Acceptance Tests, and Maintenance Program addressed in SARP Chapters 1, 7, and 8 respectively.  Course topics include: package contents, loading, unloading, storage, torque requirements, records maintenance, addressing abnormal conditions, lessons learned, leakage testing, and replacement parts.  The primary audience for this course is operations, maintenance, engineering, and QA personnel who support shipping and receiving of DOE Certified packages. In addition, SARP writers, package designers, and others who support packaging and transportation operations would benefit from attending this course.

Registration and Fee Information

Registration fee for this course is $450 (USD). This fee includes course materials only. Students are required to make their own lodging and dining arrangements. The fee can be paid by credit card or check (see Payment link for additional information).
