FBI Announces New Forensic Partnership with SRNL

SRNL, Center for Hydrogen Research Team up to Build Hydrogen Power System

DOE Awards $2 Million to Clemson Hydrogen Research
CLEMSON, S.C. (Oct. 31, 2006) – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will award $2 million to Clemson University to fund hydrogen research and development that may help change the way we power the country. The money will be used by chemical and biomolecular engineering chairman James Goodwin, in collaboration with the Savannah River National Laboratory, for research on understanding impurities in the production of hydrogen and oxygen streams and the performance of hydrogen fuel cells. SRNL Wins Coveted R&D 100 Award
AIKEN, S.C. (Sept. 12, 2006) – Researchers at the Savannah River National Laboratory, along with team members from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, have been named winners of an R&D 100 Award for their invention, the MilliWave Thermal Analyzer. The R&D 100 awards, considered the "Oscars of research and development," are presented each year by R&D magazine to the 100 most technologically significant inventions of the year. MORE »
Savannah River National Laboratory, Digitome, Team up to Detect Lung Ailments
AIKEN, S.C. (Aug. 24, 2006) – The Savannah River National Laboratory and Digitome Corporation of Alexandria, Va., are collaborating on the development of a radiographic imaging methodology for the rapid detection of respiratory abnormalities, such as avian flu. The two have entered into a one-year Cooperative Research and Development Agreement, entitled Analysis of the H5N1 Influenza and other Respiratory Abnormalities, funded by Digitome. MORE »
SRNL Tapped to Serve DOE Environmental Management Technology Needs
AIKEN, S.C. (March 16, 2006) – The U.S. Department of Energy has designated the Savannah River National Laboratory as the DOE Office of Environmental Management's (EM) "Corporate Laboratory." As the EM Corporate Laboratory, SRNL will apply its unique expertise and applied technology capabilities to assist DOE sites across the nation in meeting cleanup requirements. MORE »
