
Directions and Maps
The Savannah River National Laboratory is located at the Savannah River Site , a 310 square mile site located in the southeastern coastal area of the United States in the state of South Carolina. It is bordered to the west by the Savannah River and Georgia, and is close to several major cities, including Augusta and Savannah (Ga.), Columbia, Greenville, and Charleston (S.C.). It is in an area residents refer to as the Central Savannah River Area, or CSRA.
The Aiken County Technology Laboratory (which houses SRNL’s biotechnology laboratories and certain waste treatment technology laboratories) and the Center for Hydrogen Research are located at Aiken County’s Savannah River Research Campus, located adjacent to SRS.
The area is served by commercial flights into the Augusta, Georgia, and Columbia, South Carolina, airports; in addition, Aiken Municipal Airport can accommodate private aircraft. A variety of lodging and dining options are available in Aiken and Augusta.
